Embrace your ‘Second Spring’ with Menopause Care Tailored to You.

  • New Patient Appointments

    New patient appointments are up to 45 minutes. This allows for a thorough assessment to understand and begin addressing your menopause journey.

    Appointments can be in-person at The Osteopathy Room in Mt Maunganui or be an online video consultation throughout New Zealand

    This includes:

    • An online questionnaire to be completed prior to your appointment. This gives us a detailed understanding of your health and symptoms. This allows us to prepare for your consultation and spend more time discussing your personalised treatment plan and answering any questions you may have.

    • A treatment plan and a discussion of the benefits and risks of any treatments suggested.

    • A clinic letter (sometimes called a report) is generated after each consultation which is sent to you and your GP (with your consent).

    • A prescription, if required (cost of medication not included, if it is not funded)

    • One email within the first week for aftercare if you have queries or need clarification.

      Please note-If you are new to Menopause Care NZ or if it has been over 12 months since your last appointment with the team, you will need to book a new patient appointment.

  • Follow Up Appointments

    • Follow up appointments are up to 25 minutes, for existing Menopause Care NZ patients only. This allows for ongoing support to fine-tune your care and manage symptoms effectively.

    • Follow up appointments are all conducted as an online video consultation for patients in New Zealand.

    • The appointment includes specialist consultation with prescription (this does not include the cost of medication if it is not funded), GP letter and one email advice within one week of appointment.

    • We recommend a follow up appointment after three months of starting HRT or after a change in your treatment plan.

      Please note - If it has been over 12 months since your last appointment with us, you will need to book a New Patient Appointment.

  • Blood Tests

    We can request blood tests for you, that can be taken at your local lab. There maybe a charge if you have your blood test taken at your local surgery. The cost of this will not covered by Menopause Care NZ.

    Blood tests are usually returned within 5-7 days and will be emailed back to you. If you haven’t heard after this time please contact the clinic.

    For blood test result interpretation and treatment plan adjustments please make an appointment for a consultation.

  • Repeat Prescriptions

    A repeat private prescription can be requsted via email for pre-existing Menopause Care NZ patients only, who are stable on their treatment.

    The cost of a prescription does not include the cost of medication. Some medications are not funded.

    Medications can be requested and sent to your local pharmacy or delievered to your home.

    A maximum of 3 months of medications is prescribed at any one time.

    Please contact us via email at info@menopausecarenz.com to request a prescription BEFORE paying for the prescription. A prescription request may be declined if a review has not been conducted after the first 3 months of starting HRT or after a dose change. Payment of a prescription is non-refundable.

    As per Ministry of Health regulations, private prescriptions carry a $15 per item prescription charge at the pharmacy.

  • Email Advice

    If you have any questions within one week of your last consultation, these can be made via email enquiry to info@menopausecarenz.com. Please include your full name and the date of your appointment in the email. A reply will be sent within 3 days.

    Outside of this time we can answer brief email enquiries but we may suggest booking a follow up appointment to discuss more detailed or complex issues. Follow up appointments are 25 mins long and cost $160.

    An email correspondance would not be suitable to replace a review consultation. If it has been over 12 months since your last appointment, you will need to book a New Patient Appointment.

  • DEXA (bone scan) & Ultrasound Scans

    These investigations can be arranged for you at your local private clinic if required.

    The interpretation of the results and onward management plan requires a follow up appointment.

  • Cancellation Policy

    We have a 72 working hours cancellation policy.

    If you cancel with less than 72 working hours notice of your appointment, 100% of the fee is payable, with no refund. This is because there is not enough time to fill your appointment slot.

    If greater than 72 working hours notice, 100% of the fee is refunded minus $10 to cover the cost of administration and stripe fees.

    Please contact us via email when you have made a cancellation to request a refund. Refunds take 7-10 days to process.

    REARRANGING APPOINTMENTS

    Should you need to rearrange your appointment there is no fee if greater than 72 working hours notice given from your original appointment time.

    If less than 72 working hours notice from your original appointment time then there is a $100 fee. Please email us to rearrange your appointment time /date.
